- Born and Bred in Aswan. I know the city like the back of my hand. I have been a felucca Captain for 11 years and I haven't lost the passion of sailing down the River Nile. It's meeting different people that keeps the work interesting. People generally take the main trip offered - a 2 day journey from Aswan to Kom Ombo and Edfu. Me and my wife just arrived back to Brazil yesterday, after 14 marvellous days in Egypt. No doubt that one of the highlights of our trip was the two days/nights spent on board Alaska. The crew attention to us was really amazing, as well as the food and the music they played to us was simply FANTASTIC! Hope to have one of the Captain Fanan´s CDs in my hands soon. Please, let me know when it´s released, ok?
Thanks to our cook "Brasil", too! Unfortunately the recordig I tried to do of his wonderful voice didn´t work. But their song will always be in my mind: "Lalalalalalalala... Eeeeeeeee".

It was the best trip ever!!! Cpt Fanan and his buddy Aisaraf was the perfect buddys and made our trip a dream.
After the first hour on the feluca we felt like good old friends. The trip was amazing, the crew was distinctive and in pararell very friendly, perfect simple food and the nights we spent together with fantastic music. Aisaraf invited us to his hometown to his house to drink a juice and it was the perfect time for us to understand how beautiful is the simple life.
